Over the last ten years, training has emerged as a top priority for law enforcement and corrections officers. At the CTS Training Institute (CTSTI), we approach training with utmost seriousness, emphasizing the importance of preparedness in anticipation of worst-case scenarios. Our courses are designed to equip individual officers for real-life situations while addressing agency policies and procedures for managing risks.

CTSTI provides a wide range of training programs, each of which is directly relevant to CTS products. For instance, the Less-Lethal Instructor Training Course spans three days and aims to certify officers as Less-Lethal Instructors. This program combines hands-on experience with Less-Lethal products, classroom instruction, and practical application. Upon completion, officers possess the necessary knowledge and skills to return to their respective agencies and certify others in the safe and effective use of each Less-Lethal option. In addition to the Less-Lethal classes offered by CTSTI, PENN ARMS, a leading manufacturer of Less-Lethal Launchers, conducts Armorer Schools for various 37MM and 40MM platforms.

For hosting a course you will receive free hosting seats, up to 4 with a 25 paid seat course (for the basic 3-Day ICP course). 3 Day Less-Lethal Instructor Certification Program (ICP):

This comprehensive 3-Day Instructor Certification Program covers Impact Munitions, Chemical Munitions, OC/Aerosols & Flash-Bang/Sting-Balls. The course is structure for officers seeking Less-Lethal certification and is conducted on an 8-hour/day basis. It includes a blend of classroom sessions and range exercise focusing on the historical background, nomenclature, applications, use of force considerations, training, real aspects and the integration of Less-Lethal munitions into current departmental practices.

The program offers flexibility, allowing participants to register for individual course days based on their preferences.

Cost: $895/student

2 Day Ballistic Breaching Instructor Certification Course:

2 Day Ballistic Breaching Instructor Certification Course: This is an 16-hour Instructor Certification Course designed for those officers with a desire to learn new breaching techniques and develop their operational and instructor skills. Course will assist with the integration of the 12 gauge breaching option into their current tactical methods. Emphasis on developing a department breaching program, including policies, preplanning and deployment.

Cost: $350/student

1 Day Ballistic Breaching Class:

This is an 8-hour Operator ONLY Certificate Course designed for hands-on training. The course is a blend of classroom and range exercises designed to teach new techniques as well as develop existing skills. Students may bring their own breaching tools, but are not required to.

2 Day SWAT/Tactical Grenadier Course:  CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE

This is an Instructor Certification Course designed for hands on training.  Course is a blend of classroom as well as range exercises. Students will experience the use of various munitions and launching platforms for tactical operations.

2 Day field force Grenadier Course:

This is an Instructor Certification Course designed for hands-on training.  Course is a blend of classroom as well as range exercises.  Students will experience a variety of formations, munitions and launching platforms required to deal with civil order.

1 Day Penn arms armorer’s Course:

This is an an Armorer’s Course designed for those assigned to the agency’s armory responsible for maintaining maintenance of  launchers.  This is a hands on course focusing on repair of Penn Arms 37mm and 40mm single and multi-pump launchers.  The course includes basic troubleshooting and repairs of the launchers.  This course is needed to perform repairs without voiding launcher warranty.  Agencies attending should bring a Penn Arms launcher to work on.  This course is Penn Arms specific.  If the agency uses a Spring Wound Multi-shot launcher, they should contact training@combinedsystems.com to set up additional training.

BASIC cell extraction Instructor LEVEL 1 Certification Course:

This is a Basic Cell Extraction Instructor Level 1 Course designed to gain understanding and identifying conditions for Cell Extraction. This course will focus on Cell Extraction entry teams, positions and roles to include team and individual equipment needed for extractions. The course will identify use of force issues surrounding protocols that are critical in litigations. This course will focus on walk through style scenarios. Tactics will focus on chemical induced extractions with less reliance on physical entries designed to minimize injuries to staff and cell occupants.
